lazy summer longing
Jun 24, 2011
image from My Cool Caravan (link above)This is my dream for a perfect lazy summer. A happy little trailer with a striped awning, a polka dot tablecloth and red chairs. This scene makes my heart hurt a little with longing. If you want to feel my pain, check out the book here and more caravan eye candy right here.
I don’t think this trailer will be mine any time soon, and my summer probably won’t be as lazy as I would ideally like. But that doesn’t mean I can’t sneak away some afternoons and weekends to nap in green grass, pick berries, and find some fireflies.
What about you? What are you lazy summer goals?

Your Lazy Summer reminds me of a club my sister, baby sitter and I had when I was little. We called it the "Lazy Afternoon Together Event", or LATE. We had rules and membership cards, but no other members since we lived in the country. We picked out Tounge Splashers flavors to buy at the evenings softball games, made blanket forts on the deck and went swimming. Wish I had the luxury of that much free time now! This summer I do want to splash in the kiddie pool with my baby boy, go to the fair and ride the merry go round, pick blueberries and wild black raspberries, and make banana boats in a campfire.
Be still my vintage-trailer-loving-heart!
Ah the trailer - it looks a tiny bit like the one we camped all over Europe in when my Dad was stationed in Germany - I think ours was a bit bigger to fit all 5 of us but remember that on the rainy trips it made my mum crazy and she would send us outside to run up a mountainside or play badminton in the rain.
I don't have crazy goals for this summer - I'd like to get some summer weather (please weather gods) - have a few lazy days in the garden and maybe some reading while lazing in my hammock. Maybe a campout with the boy, some hikes, beach days building castles and sand crocodiles, some sprinkler time, market days, dropping by the fruitstand and eating cherries on the way home, lunch with friends in the garden....more prosaically maybe I'll get the boy's summer pj's sewn before the fall. And we'll see what else this summer brings. How about you?
I wish my summer were as cute as yours, it's really cool and romantic perfect for lovers.
I love the red chair.... everything is cute.
