summer list

Inspired by my friend Maggie’s Mighty Life List, I'm creating a Summer List. On Fridays, I’ll highlight a few ideas and launch us into the weekend with visions of simple summer lazyness.

This weekend, I hope to walk barefoot through the grass, eat a ripe peach, and read the Sunday papers outside. What are you planning this weekend? Send in your own ideas and we can create the Summer List together. Have a wonderful lazy weekend and see you on Monday.

This weekend I want to... play in a sandbox with my kids, volunteer my time, laugh uncontrollably, and look at the stars with my husband.

This weekend I want to ride my bike along the river, have a picnic with friends, and enjoy the sunshine.

I love this idea! Summers are so hectic with me with all of the gardening and my craft column so I'm not sure what I can take time to do. Oh, if it's not too hot we'll take a convertible ride to get some ice cream! Love the name of your blog!

This weekend - start hopefully with a rain free turf tots world cup (preschool soccer fun with food, games and fun). Set up the hammock in the garden and try it out. Play in the water while I water the garden. Visit the farmer's market and the beach. Popsicles or ice cream at any of the above (or all!). Love your list - want to most of them!

What a wonderful idea! Thank you for posting it--totally inspired me to make my own summer list (on my blog).

It seems like that last few years, summer has zoomed by and I haven't done most of the summer-y stuff I wanted to do. Not this year ;)

I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog. I was feeling the same way about summer this year and started a little list too: go camping • see live music outside at night • take the tourist-y "hop on, hop off" sightseeing bus around town • go to the tea gardens • go on a waterslide • play skeeball • go to the flea market • take a boat cruise • play bocce ball • ride a bike • go night swimming. I'd love to see other people's lists too!

This is just TOO funny... I wrote a Bucket List of Summer on May 20 and have been chipping away at it ever since (http://bspokeblog.com/?p=1460). I am a summer-lover to the core, and this activity was my way of setting out to make the most of these short months. So far I've done everything from "hang a swing in the backyard" to "go fishing with dad" (and lots of other stuff in between).

From one summer-lover to another, happy list-checking-off!
