lovemallows

Smitten Kitchen provided the recipe and she was right (natch): these homemade marshmallows are ridiculously springy and buoyant, and the process feels a little like alchemy. I made mine ever-so-slightly pink and went for my favorite, easy-peasy packaging.

I know that I am no longer in the second grade, but I am still an unabashed cheeseball. I love sending out late-winter sugarbombs in the form of valentines.

So sweet! Would you mind sharing your source for the little plastic ziplocs? I love the shape.

Hi Renee -- I got the bags off my husband, and he got them here:

They're the 4x6" size. These come 1000 to the case -- my husband uses them for work, and I snag a few every so often. Otherwise, I don't think I could make that many marshmallows in a lifetime!

I love the simplicity of the marshmallows in the clear bag with your little heart tag. It beautiful and rustic. I want to try this recipe now. Thanks for sharing.

Some of those sugarbombs DID come my way (or I should say they came Dad's and my way) and they were delicious! Notice I used the past tense. Beautifully presented and just the right compliment to a cup of hot chocolate, which we're having lots of these days since we're snowed in here in Virginia.

The moment you stop pretending you're in the second grade, you're going to be sorry; so keep creating and playing and making sugarbombs.

xoxoxo
