doilycraft

In my thirties, I have finally made peace with Valentine’s Day. The low point was in my last decade: an awkward dinner in a drafty Thai restaurant with an old boyfriend that lead to (yes, so cliche) a fight and tears and eventual breakup. Now I don’t buy into any of the forced commercialism but I embrace the holiday as a chance to bake and craft and tell my favorite folks that I love their big happy joyful hearts.

My project for this year is this Moroccan take on the standard granny doily. These take mere moments to make and give off a soft little tangle of interesting shadows. Click here for step-by-step instructions, and check back later this week for some edible gift ideas. UPDATE: The Flickr account expired, so I moved the full step-by-step right here.

I love, love, love your new logo/look. Seriously great.

I also love that the name field auto-filled with Avatar Kristin. Sweet Ethel memories.

Hi!

Today I posted an entry on my blog with a link to this tutorial.

Would you let me know if that's OK?

Thanks,

I love this project! I think it might be the perfect addition to my wedding reception decor! I tried looking at your step-by-step instructions on flickr, but it said it was a private link. :( How do I gain access to view this, or could you just email me the info?

Thanks!

This is fantastic! Where can I buy these doilies? They appear to be made from embossed, laser-cut cardstock, but I couldn't find them in several google searches.

I tried the link to the flickr site-with the detailed instructions? I got a notice that it was a private site, not allowed. What now? Are you answering comment questions at all?
